Zip(per) Up the Road

Old but very effective way of street art.
Art of a very different undergrond-level are the signs in this carpark. WOW !

The Reel Rock Tour - Big Up Productions

Big Up Productions is coming to Europe soon !!

MyHab - Recyclable Portable Shelter

A reusable/recyclable, luxury accommodation service for festival-goers, that is an affordable, green alternative to a soggy tent. The myhab service saves festival-goers the hassle of taking and pitching a tent. It also helps the organisers by reducing the number of orphaned tents they have to get rid of. myhab is the new way to enjoy festivals.
This is how Myhab promotes their product. A practical sollution for the lazy festival goer or the city that wants to promote their green innovative solution to the massive amount of new students each year.... The problem is, it was designed for the soggy and wet summers of Brittain. And their service, they will set up camp for you with nummerous extra's, is limited to their Island. Bummer, because is looks great and it is a fine example of green entrepreneurship.

Digital Climbing Wall - future for BAZ 2009 ?

It's solid as a rock and smart as a sensor. Indoor rock climbing has seen a huge rise in popularity over the last few years. With the addition of this digitally responsive wall unit, it's about to attract even bigger fans. Each climbing hold is embedded with a sensor which registers your hand and feet placement. Digiwall keeps track of your movements and registers the pattern in which you climb. This information can be used to develop technique and monitor progression. The digi wall also lends itself to interactive games, competitions and exercises. Each hold can also play a musical note as you climb. I wonder if BAZ would like to add a new climbing activity for 2009?

BAZ 2008 - Bouldering with Güllich in mind

(pic by: Miriam Sanders)
Perfect sunny weather, a gentle breeze, MONK-coffee at hand, three huge boulder constructions and 900(!) motivated contestants were the ingredients for a stunning boulder event held at the Scheveningen beach last saturday. We, (Tim, David, Martijn, Maurice and Joost) distinguished ourselfs not by our bouldering capacities but for sure by our T-shirts. In memory of the death of Wolfgang Güllich Maurice and I made this T-shirt with one of his legendary one-liners "Man geht nicht NACH dem klettern einen Kaffee trinken, sondern Kaffeetrinken IST een Teil des kletterns". A thought we put into practise several times during the day.
Again BAZ 2008 was a stunning example of a perfect organized bouldering event. Three huge bouldering constructions lay await for us. Overhanging routes, mantle-moves, delicate smearing and dyno's were all there for the climbers to test one's ability. The perfect weather, sunny and a gentle breeze, added to the relaxed atmosphere and provoked questionmarks by the onelookers who were wondering from what planet these climbing-creatures came from. As pics say more than words hereby a few who were shot by Martijn, Tim, Joost and me (names added with the pictures).
